魏晉南北朝時期,佛教盛行,全國各地建寺修廟、鑿山開窟,規(guī)模浩大,盛況空前,曲陽石雕由此得到了飛速發(fā)展,這一時期,曲陽石雕藝人們的足跡遍布全國各地,他們充分發(fā)揮自己的雕刻才藝,雕刻出眾多的佛教造像。唐代,政治、經(jīng)濟、文化空前繁榮,曲陽石雕進入快速發(fā)展時期,曲陽由此成為我國北方的雕刻中心。
